About HamiltonJet New Zealand

Formally known as Hamilton Marine Division, HJNZ was born from the growing popularity of river jet boating in New Zealand during the late 1950s. To help promote and develop the waterjet system, CWF Hamilton & Co created a subsidiary company called Hamilton Marine in 1960 to build specialised jet boat hulls, fitted with HamiltonJet waterjet units.

Today HamiltonJet New Zealand remains a leading manufacturer of aluminium hull recreational jet boats in New Zealand, combining the highest quality design and manufacture with expertise second-to-none.

HJNZ is also the authorised HamiltonJet waterjet distributor for New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Starting with the original Quinnat jet unit in 1953, HamiltonJet has developed and manufactured 46 different models of Waterjets ranging in impeller diameter from 210mm to 1000mm. The current range of 18 jet models has superseded earlier models, many of which are still operating today.

HJNZ has some parts available for older jet units built during the 1960s, 70s and 80s, as well as a full spare parts list for modern Hamilton HJ Series Waterjets.

HJNZ continue to manufacture a range of small recreational jet boats for the New Zealand river boat market. These range in length up to 6.5 metres, and can be supplied as a bare hull through to fully appointed river-ready craft. HJNZ also supply most parts for their old and new boats.

As a HamiltonJet distributor, HJNZ has supplied waterjet propulsion systems for a number of commercial vessels in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
